in Friedrichshafen, Germany

Join us for International Week at Zeppelin University on beautiful Lake Constance. Students will spend five days in a special seminar with Zeppelin students developing a tourism package for American travelers to Germany. Friedrichshafen is one of Germany’s most famous summer vacation destinations, and students will gain first-hand experience in learning & applying the fundamentals of the tourism industry to the American travel market. The three-credit course will meet for two three-hour evening sessions at Washburn, spend five days in class at Zeppelin, and conclude with one three-hour evening session back at Washburn.

Course Description:
International travel and tourism is among the world’s top three industries. This seminar is designed to give students the opportunity to develop the promotion and media for an international travel project between the United States and Germany based on the topic of Germany cultural heritage. Students will begin their research in the United States in a series of classes on the Washburn campus and then use their international seminar week to collaborate in person with their Zeppelin student colleagues on creating the actual travel project. Upon their return to the United States, Washburn students will conduct the assessment of the joint project’s feasibility.
Itinerary:
March 13: Travel to Zeppelin University
March 14: Arrive in Stuttgart, travel by train to Friedrichshafen
March 15: Tour Friedrichshafen
March 16-20: Class session 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
March 21: Travel to Stuttgart to return to Kansas (Stay overnight in Stuttgart)
March 22: Return to Kansas from Stuttgart
